This week has not been
great. We did not end up
getting the snow that we were supposed to (sorry
Buffalo), but we did get the cold.
This locked up Elk at the lower end and
has been causing problems with slush on the
upper stream. This weekend
that should all change. We
have a warm-up starting tomorrow taking temps
from the mid 20’s to the mid to upper 40’s on
Saturday and Sunday and into the upper 50’s for
Monday. There is also a
chance of showers tomorrow.
These factors will help get the snow melted and
the ice washed out.
For now, we are sending
people into the bay, the marina, or to 16 Mile
creek which are all open. As
the weekend progresses; however, the creeks will
open back up. The fish are
here and they are ready!

This beauty was caught by
13-year-old Tanner Bordick at the mouth of Elk
Creek on November 3rd. It weighed 10 lb 10 oz
and was 30" long. Congrats Tanner!
